CSI Jerusalem

(2005) 11:51 Minutes

The crew of CSI: Jerusalem (Crucifixion Scene Investigators) are called to an empty tomb to find what happened to the body.  The more they investigate the more they realize that this is no ordinary case.  Can they get to the bottom of the mystery before they are shut down?

The film is completed, however, I would like to take one more pass at the audio to clean it up a bit more.  We still need to record the director's commentary and cast/crew commentary as well as behind the scenes information.  We will add information on how we made the film so we can have our final DVD for sale.

Week One:

Filming order:  Second Unit shooting was done on April 3, 2004. Katie, Kyle, Matt and I recorded the dress rehearsal at Smythe Street Cathedral.  I will take us some time to sort through what we have.

Notes:  The second camera was not operating for the shoot (the battery charger died).  I called my friend Matt who came over with his camera to help us get the footage.

Week Two:

Filming order: We spent a very night filming at the Mitchell's basement for the empty tomb.  It was worth it.  We have shot some of the best footage in the history of Old Sow.  Halfway through it, we lost a couple key crew and cast because of school meeting.

Notes: The youth who remained filled in the gaps fantastically.

Week Three:

Filming order:  We filmed at the Deer Island Community School in the tech room.  We shot all of scene five (except for the inserts).  It was all in one room, but there were a few set ups.  The scene had 30 different shots.  It was the meeting of the agents and there was a lot of dialogue.  Most of it was close ups.

Notes:  We did use the Rodriguez dolly (a wheelchair) for two shots as well.  It was a long shoot, we started after school and did not finish till past 8 pm.

Week Four:

Filming order:  We filmed at the Deer Island School science room.  We shot the seventh and final scene first.  This was a pretty intense setup, but compared to the previous week, it was almost easy!  Then we do some non-scripted scenes of the kids doing science experiments.

Notes:  This has the only on screen of our buddy Joel.  Ironically, he is one the best actors around, but he is only in one scene.  Incidentally, Joel was the only one who did not choose a chemistry experiment.  He went for the skeleton!

Week Five:

Filming order:  We ran into summer and it was very hard to get the time to film the final shots.  One week, during camp, I took up the green screen and shot Acacia on my computer for some filler shots.  Then i got some footage of Colton interviewing Steven also in front of the green screen.  Several weeks later, I shot Katie wearing my red jacket again, walk to the tomb.  The rocks were actually at a beach, but the camera did not reveal it.  Finally, I made it in the film, or at least my hand did.  I shot me organizing some folders as a filler.

Notes:  This was the only outside shots in the film.

Post Production:

UpdateThe picture edit is complete.  The film score is being written by Ralf Bindels from Grooving Farm.  The audio will also get a looking over.
